Pullman White Bread Loaf
9 04 2010This recipe is taken from Alex Goh’s “World of Bread”. This uses the Sponge Dough method, and as you can see, the texture is cottony soft! But I’m not sure whether the amount of salt required is correct. The bread tasted a bit too saltish.

Waffles
9 04 2010Bought a Takada brand waffle maker from NTUC. It was on offer price of less than $30! This was a good buy, and my elder girl likes waffles very much, so I bought it without much hesitation.
Flipped through my recipe collection and decided to try a recipe from one of my Taiwanese Recipe book. Waffles tasted great. Can taste the honey added into the batter.
Will definitely make waffles using this same recipe again!

Chocolate Milk Loaf – Sponge Dough Method for Bread Machine
14 03 2010I changed the coffee milk loaf recipe from 《我爱面包机》to the chocolate version, to suit my girl’s taste. I’ve learnt from Rose’s The Bread Bible on how to convert a “straight dough” bread recipe into one using the sponge method. So, I thought, why not for bread machine recipe? I used about half the amount of flour, a little more than half the water, and less than half the instant yeast required in the recipe to prepare the sponge. I rest the sponge for 2 hrs before adding it into the bread pan, together with the rest of the ingredients. I’ve used plain milk for the balance of the liquid, and added chocolate chips when the machine beeps.
